The bridge deck foremost has to be a safe path to cross the river. Since the bridge is quite long (free span altogether 74 meters) and will swing, it’s deck has to be as heavy and as non-skid as possible.
To ensure this, we will use a sort of wood, which is particular bending resistant and of high density. The single boards which complete the contact surface will be of different height. Every second board will differ in about one centimetre making it easier to walk on when the wood is wetted by rain.
Stiffness is also determined by the way the cables are spanned. They will have a trapezoid form which will be braced not only by the boards but also by vertical hangers.
